Is Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS) treatment right for you?

If you’re experiencing numbness, tingling, weakness, or a feeling of heaviness in your arm—especially when your arm is elevated or carrying weight—you may be dealing with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. This treatment is appropriate for neurogenic and vascular forms of TOS caused by muscular or postural compression. However, cases involving arterial compression or clotting require medical imaging and clearance before manual care.

What is Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS) treatment?

TOS treatment focuses on relieving compression of the nerves and blood vessels as they pass through the thoracic outlet. This may include soft tissue release of the scalene and pectoralis muscles, first rib mobilization, posture correction, and neurodynamic techniques. We also incorporate breathing retraining and scapular stabilization exercises to offload the area.

What conditions does Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS) treatment address?

This treatment is appropriate for:

  • Neurogenic or vascular thoracic outlet syndrome
  • Compression due to muscle tightness or poor posture
  • Nerve or circulation symptoms in the arm with overhead activity
  • Postural syndromes contributing to thoracic or cervical tightness

We focus on improving mobility, reducing compression, and restoring safe, symptom-free upper extremity function.
