Ice Therapy Treatments
Is Ice Therapy treatment right for you?
Ice therapy, or cryotherapy, reduces inflammation and numbs pain by lowering the temperature of injured tissues. It’s most useful in the first 48–72 hours after injury. Ice is contraindicated in people with circulation issues, cold intolerance, or Raynaud’s disease.
What is Ice Therapy treatment?
An ice pack or cryotherapy unit is applied directly to the affected area for 10–15 minutes. We may use a towel as a barrier for comfort. Ice may cause a cold, burning, and numbing sensation—this is expected and generally well-tolerated.
What conditions does Ice Therapy treatment address?
Ice is beneficial for:
- Acute injuries like ankle sprains, wrist sprains, or hamstring pulls
- Post-treatment soreness or swelling
- Joint inflammation from bursitis or tendonitis
It’s a simple but powerful tool to reduce pain and promote healing when used appropriately.
