Cupping Treatments
Is Cupping treatment right for you?
Cupping is a manual therapy technique that uses negative pressure to lift the skin and underlying tissues using special suction cups. It helps increase circulation, reduce muscle tension, and promote tissue healing. Cupping is generally safe but may be contraindicated for people with bleeding disorders, certain skin conditions, or if taking blood thinners.
What is Cupping treatment?
Cups are placed on specific areas of the body using either fire or mechanical suction to create a vacuum. The cups may be left in place (static cupping) or gently moved (gliding cupping). Sessions typically last 10–20 minutes and may leave temporary circular marks. Most people describe the sensation as a gentle pulling or pressure, not pain.
What conditions does Cupping treatment address?
Cupping is effective for:
- Muscle pain and stiffness (e.g., neck pain, shoulder pain, back pain)
- Soft tissue injuries like hamstring strains or Achilles tendinitis
- Tension headaches and TMJ pain
Chronic conditions like plantar fasciitis and fibrotic scarring
By increasing local blood flow and reducing fascial restrictions, cupping helps relieve pain and restore mobility.
