Pregnancy is scary enough on its own..

Don’t put up with pain at the same time.

Pregnancy is challenging enough without experiencing discomfort or pain too. The body goes through a tremendous amount of changes to be able to produce a new life and they can be less than pleasant. Chiropractic can help relieve some of the stress put on the body by these changes.  Relieving this stress has several positive effects on both mother and child. It can help mom to be more comfortable by relieving some of the common discomforts associated with pregnancy such as low back pain and pain in the hips. Chiropractic can help babies by  reducing the stress on mom and returning the pelvis to neutral position. This allows them to move freely and turn themselves when it is time.

Mother and Child

For Mom

A large percentage of all pregnant women experience back discomfort or pain during pregnancy. This is due to the rapid growth of the baby and your body not adapting fast enough to that growth. Unnoticed imbalances in your spine and pelvis can become stressed during pregnancy. Hormones are released that soften ligaments in your spine and pelvis to prepare the body for delivery. These discomforts make it difficult to perform routine, daily activities, especially later in pregnancy. Chiropractic care can relieve these discomforts and keep you active throughout pregnancy.

For Baby

As your baby develops, your uterus enlarges to accommodate the rapid growth. When the pelvis is in a balanced state, the ligaments connected to the uterus maintain an equalized, supportive suspension. If your pelvis is out of balance in any way, these ligaments may become torqued and twisted, and create an uneven pull on the uterus. This uterine tension may restrict the baby’s movements and hamper eventual optimal positioning.

When it's time

Dystocia is defined as difficult labor and can result in extreme measures such as cesarean sections or vacuum suction to remove the baby. According to obstetrics textbooks, the commonly reported reasons for dystocia are inhibited nerve function, pelvic imbalance, and the baby’s position. Chiropractic care throughout pregnancy may help restore nerve function to your uterus, balance to your pelvic muscles and ligaments, and potentially lead to a safer and easier delivery for you and your baby.

What we don’t do:

  • You will never be asked to sign a long term treatment plan (or any contract for treatment).

Everyone heals at different rates, some people only need one treatment, others may take 5 or 6.  We don’t standardize our treatment plans for a reason….because people don’t come in standard models and neither do injuries.

  • You will not be told “you need to come back once a week for the rest of your life”.

If a chiropractor is doing their job and you are doing the homework, in most cases you should get better.  Our goal is always to fix the core problem and then release you from care.  We want you to get better, not come in every week just to make the symptoms go away.

  • We will never ask you to pay for wacky treatments that aren’t backed by results.

We are happy to explain how any of our treatments work and why they are effective. We stay firmly in the realm of reality.  You will find no Chiro-magic here!
